Shikanoko Nokonoko Koshitantan

Torako Koshi is the epitome of perfection. With her peerless beauty, top-notch grades, and position as student council president, her popularity in school is unrivaled. However, she harbors a dark secret—she was a delinquent back in middle school—and this is something she conceals to the best of her abilities.

Unfortunately, when she meets the mysterious deer girl Noko Shikanoko, Torako's hidden shame is constantly on the precipice of being exposed due to Shikanoko's rather weird antics. To maintain the reputation she worked so hard for, Torako must go along with Shikanoko's whims, even going so far as to become president of the newly established Deer Club. All her efforts will be rewarded if she can prevent the menacing doe from accidentally blurting out damaging details about her personal history that will undoubtedly unleash Torako's greatest nightmare.

Recommended

Take Azumanga Daioh or Luck Star and add the FLCL randomness. A refreshing break from all the Isekai and serious rom com high school stuff that is too serious. The character types are rather traditional for the setup, but they are well thought out and balance each other. The story revolves around regular anime high school stuff such as sports day etc, but the randomness they added is next level. A fair warning, a lot of the jokes are on behalf of anime stereotypes (like one punch man) so if you don't watch a lot of anime you miss a lot of the fun. The ... only downside is that certain jokes get a bit repetitive over time. Also character development is rather slow to non existent.
Nevertheless, a good show, totally worth watching.

Mixed Feelings

I have watched Nichijou before this and liked it, so it might be a reason why I do not particularly like Nokotan. I get it, it is funny and cute and has great art overall, I also really liked the CGI used in this show it is used very well and makes certain parts funny. Although, I do not think I have laughed out loud any time during watching (I mean Nokotan is funny but can only make me chuckle a little bit, not TOO hilarious) and to be honest I got bored the last half of the show and 2x'ed to finish the show ... asap. It is definitely suitable for certain viewers I totally get the point but it just doesnt appeal to me that much, even though it is compared to Nichijou a lot I just do not think it is worth watching. But maybe turning your brain off at night and finding whatever to watch, this is a solid pick.

Ps: I really like the opening though.

It hurts my heart to do this as this was my most anticipated anime of the year. I cannot in good faith recommend this show as for a comedy show it is not all too funny. A lot of the dialogue hardly made sense and the comedic moments (practically every moment) were lacking. Maybe I just didn't get it, a lot of the jokes didn't land and perhaps I am not the target audience for this brand of humor, but the show was so overwhelmingly brainrotting that I was unable to get into it. The general aesthetic and concept of the show is charming however ... that charm runs thin quick. The deer motif while "en-DEER-ing" (that wasn't funny) is not enough to the show on its own. With a show of such little substance the comedy NEEDS to carry its weight and it simply doesn't leading to an underwhelming and overall boring watch.
