I think it was very cute and heartwarming, some of the stuff they did was kind weird/I didn't like but it was still overall very good. The Art style was very good and the characters felt like real people. They could do more to add in other characters besides the main two but as the story is focused on their relationship I think it is good. I wouldn't say there is anything special that made it stand out but it was still a very fun read and if you like a sweet rom com then this is the perfect thing to read.

overall, pretty cute; 8/10 for me. The latest sport festival arc is definitely the weakest arc since most of the story beforehand seemed sorta realistic and cute between 2 highschoolers who like each other but the festival just takes it to a level of unrealism with the actions of the male mc taking a complete 180 for the sake of making this more 'romantic' and kinda in the realm of cringe heroism.

However, with the rest of the series, while you may think that the story will get boring and repetitive fast with the reliance of the "i love you" game, there is enough development ... between the 2 protagonists as well as exploration of the two characters that it can still be an easily fun and cute read for romance enjoyers. Therefore, for people who regularly enjoys romance, this is a definite recommend (although with a fall with the latest arc but perhaps the author can salvage it to create a more satisfying ending).

The one thing i wish this series done better before the weaker festival arc is the personality of the female mc. The male mc seems (while cringe sometimes) like a real high schooler who tries to do his best for his crush. He has a real personality and is distinct from other cheap self-inserts with his likes (asmr lol) and personality (except for the school arc) but the problem lies with the female mc i feel. NO doubt she is very cute and literally every guy's fantasy-- but that is the very problem, she is too perfect. The story feels like it attempts to give a real genuine personality for the both of them with equal moments of inner monologue to build each character and share their personality but while the male mc seems genuinely well done the female mc is just any other very cute fantasy child hood friend you will find in any generic romance. Does that necessarily detract from the cute romance that many people will be looking for? NO probability not, but from a more general reader, this can seem more like a self-insert generic romance.

Overall, very cute series and very enjoyable if you love romance. Art is great but there is literally no development or time for any characters except for the 2 main ones (the other side characters feel more like props but have their use in the story ig). But if you are coming with a genuine interest in the characters and a solid story, there are definitely better series out there that does a much better job (like the fragrant flower). Therefore, i would have to rate this series with mixed feelings but still recommend for romance lovers.

I can't believe I am writing a 'Not Recommended" review for a manga that I initially found to be quite enjoyable. While I don't like the teasing thingy when it comes to my romance mangas, this surprisingly didn't ick me. It's just that it kind of fizzled out.

Life was good when it was just the two of them. There, I said it. It was good when it was just them playing the love game, getting all flustered. I mean, I couldn't stop smiling while reading. But still, I liked it somewhere around 20-25 chapters. But as the story went on, those moments got less and ... less frequent. Rather, I found myself clicking my tongue more often in disappointment.

After the introduction of other characters, the initial hook of playing the love game slowly started to get lost somewhere. However, instead of offering something for readers to anticipate, the author did nothing instead of creating drama out of thin air. While I would prefer to believe there is character development, there is not. Instead, both the characters are in shambles compared to when the story just started, the male lead more so, ittedly. One of the major reasons is that damn overly possessive trait that both of them have, with the male lead displaying it more prominently. It's like whenever he sees her in the vicinity of boys, he starts to throw a temper tantrum with a jealous face, followed by a chapter or two of him realising how pathetic he is. All that to go right back to square one and him throwing another tantrum after witnessing her with other boys.
His insecurities are so annoying to witness. And the frustrating thing is, both of them are fine with it. It's like you can be on the cusp of witnessing them confess to each other, but then the author pulls up the insecurity card just to throw any development out the window. The last good arc was the pokky kissing arc because it was the arc where we witnessed something in of development. The whole fake dating thing was decent but was just nothing but drama in the end. The recent sports festival arc just couldn't get any worse. We are currently 10 chapters into the arc, but I am already starting to get tired of it. While it looks like the male lead is finally trying to tackle his insecurities in this arc, he is not. Instead he is trying to play along with those insecurities, and it is just ruining the whole reading experience.

Art is the only good thing that has held out without deteriorating.
