It was not as bad as people say it is

So, many people who have seen and loved Usagi Drop definitely aren't a fan of the manga due to its not well received ending. OF course I have heard of the ending before watching the anime which ended up being one of my all time favourite anime. Then I wanted to witness the ending myself and so I did.

The story goes like the anime up until the 4th volume so in the 5th volume there is a huge time skip. Around 10 years or so where we see Rin attending high school with familiar faces ... such as Kouki. New people also arrived to the scene. Many of Rin's new friends questioned why Rin isn't attracted to Kouki since he is hot and very athletic but according to Rin because he is just a friend. At this time we also see Rin's mind develop and the effect of puberty and such. Rin starts thinking who he really is attracted to. To this he can only think of one man and that is his Guardian Daikichi. And this was the point where most of the hate towards the manga start to appear. Before that happening it was more smooth sailing.

First, The secret gets accidentally spilled by Kouki who first realized what was going on. Then of course Daickichi doesn't really believe Kouki. Rin kinda asks Daickichi how he feels about this but to this Daickichi says that it is impossible due to how he sees Rin. Some more build up happens and Rin asks again if it is okay and to this Daickichi says that give him 2 years until Rin graduates. Since he must first think of it and maybe Rin will find someone else. Does this happen? No, sadly enough. After the 2 years Rin hasn't changed her mind and Daickichi just accepts the thing that happened. Of course they don't get married instantly. After all this we see their life as a couple.

giving it a 9 and saying i have mixed feelings is kinda weired huh
well basically i personally liked the story since from the begging it was set to go towards that ending (in hints and stuff)
understading those hints meant you were ready for the story to finalize but a lot of people didn't expect it that dosen't change the fact it's good
it will get annoying after chapter 25 to 38 something but after that it's good so that beeing said do give it a read knowing the feelings of it of course
mixed feelings because some will say this is shid and ... some will say it's good it's not for everyone that's for sure

really dude, after all those years, al those memories, the difficulties of raising a human being... and you fuck it up like this? it wasnt even a set-up thing. it felt forced as shit. if you started this manga with that ending in mind, i would have got it. it is a tough subject to address, would have won me out even, if you handled the topic well.

this, however, is pure disrespect to the characters you gave humanity. idgaf about what readers think, neither should you. this was your story, and you failed it.

let's say rin feels what she feels. its fine, in a way, ... she is a free human being.

how can you excuse daikichi though? you know it is true. you even have him say it too. it is the worst thing ever. all those years, all those memories, all those hardships; ruined, destroyed, betrayed in the worst possible way.

all this, for what? be honest with yourself. was it worth feeding that degenerate in you? even if you were that starved, how could this possibly satiate it? you fed your own manga to that abomination, did it even make the slightest difference? was this supposed to be a confession of who you are to the world? was it supposed to make people sympathize?

what a fucking waste.
