I'd say this is my guilty pleasure, but that would require me to feel guilty. There seems to be a misconception that the gore is unbearably gross, but that for me just wasn't the case, as there is never really anything too graphic shown. By that I mean theres not really any detail as the injuries are pitch black, they even make use of the lack of detail to make us think a character got a fatal injury, when the blood covering the supposed injury made it almost impossible to see it wasn't the case. Take this with a grain of salt as it might ... change later in the manga(I'm 16 chapters in as of writing this)

There is frequent nudity, and the things that happen can be quite disturbing. Scenes that are unsettling are not unsettling due to disturbing imagery, but the scenario itself. The manga includes very heavy topics, in fact it seems to collect them like the infinity stones. Of course, if you're bad with blood you should stay away, as I'm writing this review with the assumption that anyone reading can handle basic slasher flicks.

The plot is fun, even if at sometimes it seems to only be there to connect the gore and what not and make the story coherent. But sometimes plot developments can actually make you interested to see what comes next, and otherwise does enough to keep you amused.

This is shocking for the sake of shocking. It appeals to your morbid curiosity and that's mostly it. If that's what you're looking for, this is a good read.

Also this manga is by the same guy as Tomodachi Game, which is extremely good story-wise, so there is much potential for Dead Tube with that in mind.

Its just pure gore and rape. The only reason I'm still reading this is because the art is so damn good and cuz this manga is so 'unique'. The story is fine, but the author is pretty messed up... Almost every female introduced gets raped or killed eventually, including high-schoolers and middle-schoolers.

Art: 9/10. Some of the best gore i've seen, and the illustrator is worryingly good at drawing rape scenes.

Story: 3/10. Some arcs actually had a story to them, and some even had decent conclusions with people continuing their lives. But then future arcs would bring that person back and have them gangraped ... for literally no reason...

Character: 7/10. Yandere fmc, decent mc

Enjoyment: 3/10. I felt so disgusted reading some of the stuff, but I kept on reading anyways...

I still think you should try it though if you think you are interested, it's definitely a new experience

Deadtube is one of those manga that’s hard to stop reading once you start, but not because it’s good. Quite the opposite—it thrives on shock value, using graphic violence and disturbing themes like rape to unsettle the reader. And while it does succeed in creating discomfort upon first read the repetitive nature of these scenes quickly makes it feel stale. It’s like eating the same meal every day until the taste becomes overwhelming and unpleasant.

The characters in Deadtube are poorly written and lack any real depth or nuance. Most of them are portrayed as unreasonably evil and perverted. This is especially true for the ... antagonists, who often follow a predictable pattern: they’re introduced as seemingly normal individuals, only to suddenly reveal themselves as psychotic nymphomaniacs with little to no buildup. This same formula repeats itself throughout each arc, becoming so predictable that it feels more like a cliché than a twist.

I could say the same about the main characters as well they don’t undergo any meaningful development and feel flat, following predictable tropes without any real depth. Machiro, the Yandere girlfriend, and Machiya, the weak-willed boyfriend, feel like cheap imitations of the main characters from Mirai Nikki. Despite major events unfolding around them, they receive little to no real character growth, leaving them stagnant and underdeveloped throughout the story.

Each arc follows the same formula: introduce a character who seems like a normal person, only for them to turn out as an evil, sex-obsessed nymphomaniac murderer. Then, Mashiro goes off the rails and ‘saves the day.’ Honestly, you could sum up all the major arcs with that same pattern, and it starts to feel repetitive and predictable after a while.

Overall, I’d rate it a 1 or 2 out of 10. It really lacks any substance or depth. Not that I expected any, but this is a manga you should only read if you’re looking for hardcore porn and excessive gore. Outside of that, it offers no real value.
